Prepare a Nutritious Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie

I Love A Good Smoothie!

If your kids are anything like mine, they like anything strawberry, particularly strawberry smoothies.

We weren't sure how the kids would react to this dish since it had oats, but they ate it up in seconds.

It was not only delicious, but also easy to prepare and quite refreshing! It makes an excellent, quick breakfast or nutritious after-school snack.

This Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie recipe asks for skim milk, rolled oats, bananas, frozen strawberries, and a touch of sugar and vanilla. Fortunately, we generally always have these things on hand, so I suspect we'll be cooking it more regularly.

Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie

Making this oatmeal strawberry smoothie is extremely simple. It will take 5 minutes and requires just a decent mixer.

Step-by-step Instructions

  • Start by measuring all of the ingredients. I like to use measuring cups.

  • Wash the strawberries and remove their stems.

  • Take the blender and combine all of the ingredients. Note: To make mixing simpler, add the wet components first.

  • Turn on the blender and mix on high until smooth.

  • If the smoothie is too thick, add a bit extra liquid like milk or water. Blend again until smooth.

  • Taste the smoothie and add more sweetness if desired. (For recommendations, go to the "Sweetener recommendation" section.)

  • Transfer the smoothie to a glass.

  • Toppings are optional; I used goji berries and bee pollen. Be creative and add whatever toppings you desire.

  • Serve, and enjoy!

  • Strawberries. Strawberries are a delicious low-calorie fruit. They are high in vitamin C, which is a potent antioxidant that boosts the immune system. Strawberries have several health advantages; I like them because they lower inflammation and promote gut and heart health. I used fresh strawberries in this smoothie, but frozen would work just as well.

  • Oats. It may seem strange to add oats to a smoothie, but they are an excellent addition. Oats not only make smoothies creamy and thick, but they also provide a variety of nutrients. Oats are high in fiber, particularly beta-glucan, a form of soluble fiber that promotes heart health. It also promotes the development of beneficial bacteria in our digestive system, which is critical to our general health. They are an excellent source of energy and fullness.

Almond butter. I added almond butter to make the smoothie more complete and healthful. Almond butter contains healthful monounsaturated fats, fiber, proteins, and a variety of vital minerals and vitamins.
Maca Powder. Maca is a superfood that offers several health advantages. It improves mood, vitality, and stamina. It includes a variety of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids and makes an excellent smoothie ingredient.
Vanilla extract. For an additional taste boost.
